Jovid Schuette, LPC
Jovid Is a skilled counselor with over 24 years of experience providing counseling services to individuals and families. He has worked in various settings including intensive in-home counseling and adolescent residential and day treatment psychotherapy. Jovid earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and his master’s degree in educational psychology with an Emphasis in Community Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Jovid’s counseling style most closely resembles person-centered theory while emphasizing the hierarchy of needs. He also uses techniques from theories including Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and Family Systems Therapy. Jovid utilizes techniques and strategies from the major theories of counseling depending upon what will be most helpful. He is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy as well as EMDR.
Jovid’s faith, genuineness, sense of humor, solution-focus, and never-ending optimism are important foundations for him. He enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife, two sons, and two cats. He also enjoys camping and doing home projects.
Jovid particularly enjoys helping others in areas including maximizing one’s potential, ending self-inflicted barriers, stress management, parenting skills, family relationships, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, decision-making, depression, abuse, trauma recovery, and interpersonal relationships. Jovid provides therapy for clients 12 and older.
