In-Person and Telehealth Versatility
At New Insights Counseling, we understand that traveling to an office for your sessions isn’t always realistic. Telehealth can help you avoid missing a necessary session, no matter the reason, such as:
- a mild illness
- a transportation issue
- a last minute childcare challenge, or
- needing to squeeze a session into a lunch hour at work
We have the flexibility to offer full telehealth, a blend of in-person and telehealth, or fully in-person options. This provides the convenience you need while still receiving the quality of care you deserve.
Common Therapies Practiced at New Insights Counseling
CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an evidence-based approach to improving life satisfaction. CBT focuses on first identifying negative thought patterns and behaviors. Then these are used to develop practical, more realistic thoughts and strategies for managing a variety of mental health concerns.
DBT
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy builds skills for emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. DBT is particularly effective for those struggling with intense emotions and self-destructive behaviors. Our therapists teach these skills to strengthen overall wellbeing.
EMDR
With Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, our skilled therapists use knowledge of the brain’s information processing system to help overcome upsetting memories, anxiety, and unhelpful beliefs such as “I’m not good enough” or “I need everyone to like me.” EMDR can often achieve lasting progress in less time than other styles of therapy.
ERP
Exposure and Response Prevention therapy is a frontline treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The therapist carefully guides exposures to anxiety-provoking stimuli and prevention of associated rituals or compulsions. ERP helps clients to confront and manage fears, leading to long-term symptom relief and improved quality of life.
TF-CBT
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is designed for individuals ages 3-21 who have experienced trauma. With a focus on sorting through traumatic experiences, this therapy uses CBT in a unique way to assist children and adolescents in coping with the emotional aftermath of trauma. TF-CBT rebuilds a sense of safety and control, which then allows life growth beyond the trauma.
